Kedarnath is a town located in the Rudraprayag district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is situated in the Garhwal Himalayas at an elevation of about 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) above sea level. Kedarnath is known for its religious significance as one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites and as the location of the Kedarnath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Here are key aspects of Kedarnath.

The town of Kedarnath is not easily accessible by road throughout the year. Pilgrims typically reach Gaurikund by road and then continue their journey on foot or by pony. Helicopter services are also available during certain months.
