Fatehpur Sikri

Fatehpur Sikri is a historical city located in the Agra district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It was founded in the 16th century by the Mughal emperor Akbar the Great and served as the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1571 to 1585. Fatehpur Sikri is renowned for its well-preserved architectural complex, which includes palaces, mosques, courtyards, and other structures.

The city was built primarily using red sandstone and features a unique blend of architectural styles, including Mughal, Persian, and Indian influences.A white marble tomb dedicated to the Sufi saint Salim Chishti, known for its delicate marble lattice work.

Buland Darwaza

This imposing gateway is one of the largest and tallest in the world and was built to commemorate Akbar's victory over Gujarat.

Jama Masjid

A grand mosque built by Akbar, characterized by its large courtyard and intricately carved pillars and arches.

Diwan-i-Khas

The Hall of Private Audience, where Akbar would meet with his ministers and courtiers. It features a central pillar with sculpted brackets.

Diwan-i-Aam

The Hall of Public Audience, where Akbar would hold public meetings and address the common people.
