Dietetics is a field of science that determines how food and nutrition affects human health.

Moreover, good nutrition and dietary interventions are the cornerstones of management in case of many lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension etc.

The Department of Dietetics at SNH has a well trained Clinical Dietitian who provides state of the art services for continuous evolution increasing requirements of the patients as per their clinical condition.

  • Dietitians assess the nutritional needs of all the patients and then formulate individualized diet plans taking into consideration the biochemical parameters in order to maintain individual health. Special emphasis is laid on therapeutic diets in order to treat different disease / metabolic disorders like Diabetes etc.

  • In case of severe malnourished patients, nutrition supplements are suggested when oral intake is inadequate. Tube feeding and parenteral nutrition planning and monitoring is also done.

  • Dietitians work in close coordination with the doctors, clinical and nursing teams to ensure that patients receive appropriate Nutritional support at all times.

  • The hospital has a centralized kitchen service system. The kitchen provides disease specific diet to all categories of patients like suites, premium rooms, luxury delivery rooms, deluxe rooms, economy wards, SICU,ICU, HDU, PICU and day care & dialysis patients.

  • Standardization and assurance of food and dietary service is maintained and regulated through NABH policies and updated from time to time.

  • Also provides an internship program for a period of 3 months & 6 months.

  • Provide personalized diet plan to the OPD patients.

  • Patient-focused quality care is the center of everything for the department.
